The Setting

The quiet end of Shore Drive

Sands Beach Club sits right at the end of Shore Drive — no strip traffic, no crowds, just a secluded, peaceful, and quiet stretch of coast between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. It fronts one of the largest beach areas on the entire Grand Strand, where the sand opens up wide and follows Singleton Swash to the south.

The views run for miles in both directions. Look north and you can see all the way up the coast toward North Carolina. To the south, past Singleton Swash, the Dunes Club golf course wraps around the end of Shore Drive — so there are no large buildings blocking the way, and at night you can watch the lights of the main strip and the Ferris wheel glowing out over the water. And with nothing tall standing to the south, the beach itself stays in the sun well into the afternoon — no high-rise shadows cutting your beach day short.

Because it sits at the very end of Shore Drive, this stretch of beach stays refreshingly uncrowded — it's public, like every beach in South Carolina, but a lot harder to reach unless you're staying right here. You get the best of both worlds: quiet, low-key beach days at your doorstep, with the best of the Grand Strand just a short drive away.

728 is our family's winter retreat — a quiet place where we, our kids, and our friends slow down, watch the water, and end up around the table together. Some mornings the dolphins play right along the shoreline; on clear nights the sky opens up for stargazing — find your favorite constellation, and if the timing's right, watch a SpaceX launch climb the coastline from the south, tracking north right offshore — close enough to catch from bed. We share it because we want other families to enjoy it exactly the way ours does: unhurried, oceanfront, and stocked with all the little comforts that make it feel like your own place, not just a rental.

Apache Pier

A short stroll away — the East Coast's longest wooden pier, with fishing, ice cream, and live music.

Ocean Annie's Beach Bar

An iconic beachfront hangout with live music and cold drinks, just down the sand.

Tanger Outlets (Hwy 17)

Under 10 minutes away for name-brand deals at Nike, Coach, Under Armour and more.

Barefoot Landing

Broadway at the Beach

About 15 minutes south: aquarium, zipline, nightlife, and waterfront restaurants.

Restaurant Row

A short drive away — a well-known stretch of dining with everything from casual, family-friendly spots to high-end steak and seafood.

Local dining

Flip Flops Bar & Grill, Harry the Hat's, Finn McCool's, and Bimini's Oyster Bar are all nearby.

The Rental

A bright corner condo, right on the ocean

The 728 is a corner two-bedroom, two-bath oceanfront condo at Sands Beach Club on Shore Drive in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina — and the corner makes all the difference. Corner units are the largest floor plan in the building, with extra windows that wrap the living space in natural light and open up a wider view of the Atlantic than the standard units.

The result is a home that simply feels bigger and brighter — sun pouring in from two directions — you can practically follow it around the building all day — and the ocean stretching out beyond the private balcony. It sleeps up to six with two queen bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. Step out for your morning coffee, head straight down to the sand, then come back to a full kitchen, free WiFi, free on-site parking, and the resort's outdoor pool.

Golf the capital of the world — from next door

Myrtle Beach is the Golf Capital of the World: more than 80 championship courses along a 60-mile stretch of the Grand Strand, and the PGA Tour stops here every spring. The 728 sits right in the heart of it — The Dunes Golf & Beach Club is literally next door, just across Singleton Swash to the south, its fairways wrapping right around the quiet end of Shore Drive.

The condo makes a perfect golf-trip basecamp: a full kitchen for early breakfasts, an in-unit washer & dryer for your gear, free parking for the clubs, and an oceanfront balcony to unwind on between rounds. Tee off in the morning, toes in the sand by afternoon.

The Dunes Golf & Beach Club

Your neighbor across the swash — the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. design regularly ranked Myrtle Beach's number-one course, with an oceanfront clubhouse and the famous “Waterloo” 13th. Host of the PGA Tour’s Myrtle Beach Classic — and you can catch part of the tournament right from the beach.

Arcadian Shores Golf Club

Right here in the Arcadian / Shore Drive area — a Rees Jones classic with tree-lined fairways and natural lakes over a par-72, ~6,800-yard layout. Minutes from the door.

Grande Dunes Resort Club

A short drive inland — Roger Rulewich’s par-72 stretches to 7,600 yards with dramatic elevation and a signature hole along the Intracoastal Waterway.

Barefoot Resort & Golf

Four championship courses from the legends — Love, Dye, Norman, and Fazio — each a bucket-list round, a short drive up to North Myrtle Beach.

Being next door pays off beyond golf. The Dunes Club throws Fourth of July fireworks right over the beach, and on summer concert nights the music and the show carry down the shoreline — watch it all from the sand just outside the 728.

Beyond the neighbors, world-famous names like TPC Myrtle Beach and Pine Lakes — “the Granddaddy,” the Strand’s original course — are an easy drive, with 80-plus courses in all within reach.

Traveling with family? Myrtle Beach is also the mini-golf capital — dozens of elaborate, volcano-erupting, waterfall-splashing courses up and down the Strand (Hawaiian Rumble, Mt. Atlanticus, and more). It’s the perfect after-dinner tradition, and several are just minutes away.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

Where is 728 Sands Beach Club located?

The 728 is at Sands Beach Club, 9400 Shore Dr, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572 — in the Shore Drive area of the Grand Strand, between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach.

How many guests can the 728 sleep?

Up to 6 guests. There are two queen bedrooms plus a sofa bed in the living room, and two full bathrooms.

Is 728 a true oceanfront corner unit?

Yes — 728 is a genuine oceanfront corner unit and the largest floor plan at Sands Beach Club. The corner position adds windows on three sides (two that pour in sun, plus a west window for warm late-afternoon light), so it feels brighter and more open than a standard interior unit — with a wider, wraparound 180°+ Atlantic view from the private balcony and direct beach access.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is after 4:00 PM and check-out is before 10:00 AM.

What amenities are included?

A full kitchen, free WiFi, free on-site parking, indoor and outdoor pools, a private oceanfront balcony, direct beach access, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Is the beach private?

It's a public beach, but Sands Beach Club sits on a calmer, less-crowded stretch of Shore Drive with direct access from the building — so it feels private even though the sand is open to everyone.

Does Sands Beach Club have a pool?

Yes — both indoor and outdoor pools, so you can swim year-round, plus direct beach access just steps from the building.

What's on-site at the resort?

Quite a bit without leaving: an on-site restaurant (Twisted), a pizza and ice cream shop, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, tennis and pickleball courts, and gas grills for guests.

Is parking free?

Yes — free on-site parking is included with your stay.

What can you see from the balcony?

A wraparound 180°+ view of the Atlantic. Dolphins regularly cruise the shoreline below, mornings bring the sunrise over the water, and clear nights are wide open for stargazing — you can even catch the occasional rocket launch tracking up the coast from Cape Canaveral. In summer, look south and you can take in The Dunes Club’s Fourth of July fireworks and beachfront concerts, just down the sand.

Is there a washer and dryer in the unit?

Yes — the condo has its own in-unit washer and dryer, plus a full kitchen and filtered water with ice.

How close is golf to the 728?

Very close — Myrtle Beach is the Golf Capital of the World, and the 728 is right in the thick of it. The Dunes Golf & Beach Club sits next door across the swash, Arcadian Shores is minutes away, and 80-plus Grand Strand courses (Grande Dunes, Barefoot, and more) are within a short drive.

Yes — it is built for it: a full kitchen for early starts, an in-unit washer and dryer for your gear, free parking for the clubs, and an oceanfront balcony to unwind on between rounds, all minutes from dozens of championship courses. Myrtle Beach is also a mini-golf mecca, so there is something for the whole group.

“This was a lucky find for a spring break getaway. This place is amazing! The attention to the little details is where it's at with this condo. The view is great from the living room and master bedroom, and the dolphins literally will be in the walking area of the shoreline. We made great use of the beach gear — enough chairs for at least 8 people plus beach blankets and umbrellas, a wagon, and a Yeti cooler. Basketball, volleyball, and tennis/pickleball gear too, and the courts are close. The kitchen was a dream, fully stocked and ready to entertain, with charcuterie and serving trays and great coffee and tea options. Plenty of blankets and pillows, games, books, movies, and even kid-friendly activities. They've truly gone above and beyond to make you comfortable. We will be back!”

“Michael's place took me by complete surprise. This may be the most well-stocked Airbnb I have ever stayed in — from beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and a wagon to games and coloring books with a full set of crayons. It was a great surprise, and our kids loved it. All you need to do is head to the nearby Kroger to stock up and you're set. It's in a great location on the beach and doesn't get too crowded, and the inlet was a lot of fun for my kids. The building is easy to get to and a short drive to many local activities (highly recommend the go-kart track nearby), and don't miss Bimini's for great seafood. We'll be back!”

★★★★★ Anne C. · Traveled with group · April 2026

“This property literally has everything you need for your time at the beach. There is no need to bring anything — chairs, towels, even a wagon! This place has it all, with beautiful views as well.”

★★★★★ Sora · Riverdale, GA · May 2026

“It was nice and clean, we found everything we needed, nice view and super peaceful. We loved it.”

★★★★★ Lindi · Florida · July 2025

“Overall the place is great. Our daughter had a great time and enjoyed the games and beach toys!”

Plan Ahead

From late summer to New Year's

The stretch from August into the new year might be the Grand Strand's best-kept secret — the ocean stays warm well into fall, the crowds thin out, and you can follow the sun around the place all day. Here's why each season is worth booking.

Late SummerAug – Sept

Bath-warm water and long beach days, with the summer crowds easing once school's back. Sunrise coffee on the balcony, sand all afternoon.

FallOct – Nov

Myrtle's quiet season — the ocean's still swimmable, mornings turn crisp, and rates settle down. A wide-open beach and warm late-afternoon light through the corner windows.

The HolidaysThanksgiving – New Year's

A full kitchen built for the feast, holiday lights and shows up and down the Strand, and fireworks over the water on New Year's. These dates go first — lock them in.

Something's always on nearby — fall festivals, holiday light displays, and seasonal shows along the Grand Strand. Just ask what's happening during your stay.
